Volunteers

Thurrock Parent Partnership Service has many opportunities for volunteering, with roles that are varied and interesting, involving a mixture of both practical and interpersonal skills.

Below are some examples of roles that are available (see how to access PDF files):

Examples of volunteering opportunities

• Volunteer Equality Group (PDF 39.5kB)
  undertakes regular equality review of all policies prodcued by the service, and contributes to their redesign.
• Volunteer Independent Parental Supporter (IPS) (PDF 40.4kB)
  offers support to parents/carers of children identified as having special educational needs to consider their options and express their views.
• Volunteer Public Relations (PDF 39.5kB)
  attends locality groups and events to raise awareness of the service.
• Volunteer Service User Follow-up (PDF 39.6kB)
  makes supervised contact with service users.
• Volunteer Special Education Needs (SEN) Helpline (PDF 39.7kB)
  provides first-level response and information to parents/carers.
• Volunteer Training and Liaison (PDF 39.8kB)
  contributes to training and liaison with education establishments alongside the Parent Partnership Officer.
